Haiku of the Day February 2026: Love
While curating poems for February, I began by looking for roses, cakes, and stuffed teddy bears with promises of more after sunset. But as I combed through journal after journal in search of poems about love, I was reminded of that old line-isn’t every poem a love poem? Sure, it might say “grief” or “widowhood” or “moon” (sometimes preceded by a random noun), but at its core, the emotion remains that most universal marker of human existence-at least until the AI bots take over.
The Haiku of the Day feature displays a new haiku each day at the top of our home page. See also our Haiku of the Day Archive.

twilight is fading
we’re still standing
with our arms around each other
The antique milk can.
Among blackberry bushes
in her floral dress.
I take a bath
in the Myagdi River—
her eternal love
Assuming the question is addressed to me, it is my interpretation of
the theme of love. Take a vow of charity each day bread and butter for the have nots or
street dwellers. Dented bowl speaks of their penury.
i hope i have made it clear.
