Touchstone Awards 2012
Can you believe it’s almost September? Time to get the Touchstone Awards up and running…
Touchstone Awards for Individual Poems 2012
Please take a close look at the English-language haiku published during 2012, and send us your favorites. These are awards, not contests. Our goal is to hand the panel a broad selection of poems that represent the most compelling poems published this year. As in past years, we will ask journal editors to send us English-language haiku and senryu they published during the award year. We also invite individuals– you! –to participate using our online form, here: Submissions.
Current and past award-recipients are showcased in the Touchstone Archive.
You can find more information on eligibility and how to submit nominations here: Touchstone poem awards.
Touchstone Distinguished Book Awards 2012
As you may already know, the book awards have been running on a non-calendar year. Mainly, this was due to scheduling concerns and the desire to release the results in a timely manner. It seemed like a good idea at the time! However, in response to popular demand, we are moving to a calendar year, which means this year we’ll accept nominations of books published during 2012, with the cut-off being midnight of the last day of the year. This year, we will make an exception and accept submissions of books published in the last couple of months of 2011. In the future, the award year will begin on Jan. 1.
The book awards reward collections of poems, or works of scholarship, that represent noteworthy contributions to English-language haiku. You can find more information on eligibility and how to submit nominations here: Touchstone book awards.
Thanks in advance for sending us your brilliant creations. All best wishes!
