This Month in Haikupedia — March 28, 2021
The Haiku Foundation welcomes you to Haikupedia! After a hiatus, Haikupedia staff have resumed finalizing articles to pique your interest. We hope to continue releasing new articles about once a month or so.
This month, we take a close look at Haiku North America 2017, which was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We also continue to feature the bios of a number of American poets: Tom Clausen, Hilary Tann, and John Stevenson of the Route 9 Haiku Group and their Lake Onawa Retreats where they often wrote winning renku. As well, we sample Rt. 9 Haiku Group’s Upstate Dim Sum anthology. Other East Coast poets with new bios include Paul MacNeil, Mary Stevens, Robin White, Jeannie Martin, Jeff Hoagland, Alan S. Bridges, Peter Newton, and Kathe L. Palka. Bill Pauly, Jerry Ball, Donna Bauerly, and Marian Olson also receive attention. New articles in the Awards and Contests category are the Japan Air Lines National Haiku Contest 1964, a catalyst for the writing of haiku outside of Japan, as well as The Heron’s Nest’s Peggy Willis Lyles Haiku Awards.
We welcome your feedback and involvement. If you have suggestions, comments, or note any errors, please contact the editors using the Haikupedia Contact Box. We look forward to reading your reactions to and ideas for this important project!
