This Month in Haikupedia — August 27, 2023

The Haiku Foundation welcomes you to Haikupedia!

This month, our new offerings are small yet impressive. We share the short bios of two haiku poets, Joanna Ashwell (British) and Christine Horner (American). As well, we’ve updated Haiku Canada’s Betty Drevniok Award with the winners of the 2022 and 2023 contests.

We welcome your feedback and involvement. If you have suggestions, comments, or note any errors, please contact the editors using the Haikupedia Contact Box. We look forward to reading your reactions to and ideas for this important project!

  1. I really enjoy reading these biographies of haiku poets. You have it switched though. Joanna Ashwell is American and Christine Horner is British.

    1. Hi Sari,

Thank you for your kind words. However, I believe we are correct:
As you will read in Joanna Ashwell’s bio, “Joanna Ashwell (born in the United Kingdom), British poet,…” And in Christine Horner’s bio, it states that she was born in San Antonio, Texas and now resides in California — so she is American.
