THF Volunteer Appreciation Day 2023
Third Annual Haiku Foundation Volunteer Appreciation Day
September 16, 2023 marks our third celebration of THF Volunteer Appreciation Day. The Haiku Foundation’s Board of Directors extends a heartfelt Thank You! to all who have offered their time, energy, and expertise: committee chairs and members; hosts, editors, guest editors and contributors of current and past features, Haikupedia, and Juxtapositions; those who work in the background to maintain THF’s website and forum; coordinators and judges of the annual Touchstone Awards; and those of us who oversee the work of the Foundation as officers and board members. You can find a complete record of all our volunteers on our Service list. (If you note any omissions, please let us know.)
Again this year, to recognize the significant contributions of all THF volunteers, co-editors Jim Kacian and Julie Bloss Kelsey have compiled an anthology that features the work of nearly 100: the high lonesome: The Haiku Foundation Volunteer Anthology 2023. All past and present volunteers were eligible to participate. In addition to the online version, you can purchase a print version here.
Thank you Jim and Julie for putting together another beautiful volunteer anthology. It’s an honor to serve the HF and I look forward to reading all the lovely haiku from 2023’s volunteers.
Much appreciation to Jim and Julie for putting this anthology together.
I enjoyed reading the poems.
Thank you, Theresa.
Thank you, Kala, for your generous words and appreciation. Glad to read you enjoyed the anthology!

I appreciate being included in this excellent anthology.
I noticed the publication credit for my haiku is misprinted. It should be The White Buffalo (the title of my newest book from Backbone Press), not The Last Buffalo. Any way to correct this?
Much appreciation to Jim and Julie for putting this anthology together. So much good work here!
Just wanted to note this has been corrected. Thank you!
Thank you so much THF for including me. It was a privilege to contribute and an honour to be here in this anthology with all the distinguished poets around the world. Thank you Jim Kacian and Julie Bloss Kelsey. Thank you Theresa!!
Thank you, Lakshmi, for your kind words!

A great collection. I was a volunteer this year, and was asked for my info, but seem to have missed out being included in the Anthology. Oh well.
Dear Marietta,
Deepest apologies for the oversight. I believe you’ve received a note from the editors and this will be corrected soon.
