THF QR Code Graphics and Tags
Haiku is a broad church, with dozens of styles, schools, groups, applications, and languages. But many people still know it only in its stick-figure form — a 5-7-5 poem with a nature reference. These people might be confused when they encounter examples of contemporary haiku in the public sphere. So The Haiku Foundation has decided to help them.
We’ve created a QR code that directs people to an information page that explains how haiku has evolved through the years. And we’re in the process of placing these tags prominently in as many venues as possible. You’ll find them along haiku paths and walkways, botanical gardens, anywhere you’re likely to encounter haiku. Try the QR code above yourselves, see how it works, and imagine how it might help you explain haiku to your friends and loved ones, and anyone else who might ask.
We encourage you to use this graphic freely with anyone you think will benefit from learning more about haiku. Thanks for helping to spread the word!
