THF Haiga Galleries: Photo Haiku of Cendrine Marrouat

Cendrine Marrouat

The Haiku Foundation honors the work of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga: visual image wedded to haiku. This month’s featured artist is Cendrine Marrouat.

Cendrine is a poet, writer, photographer, watercolor painter, digital artist, the co-founder of Auroras & Blossoms, the founding editor of The Haiku Shack Magazine, and the co-founding editor of The PoArtMo Magazine. She has been widely published, and has authored and co-authored 50 books in several genres, including Light Lingers: A Collection of Haiku (2025), Songs in Our Paths: Haiku & Photography (2020-2021), and Walks: A Collection of Haiku (2019-2020).

Working with poetry, fiction, photography, watercolors, and digital art, Cendrine explores nature, and life and its lessons. Simplicity and minimalism guide her approach, and she considers Kahlil Gibran, Emily Dickinson, and Alphonse de Lamartine to be inspirations.
