Steliana Voicu
The Haiku Foundation honors the work of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga: visual image wedded to haiku. This month’s featured artist is Steliana Cristina Voicu.
Steliana lives in Ploieşti, Romania and loves painting, poetry, Japanese culture, photography and astronomy. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics from Petroleum-Gas University of Ploieşti and in 2012 she received her Master diploma in Business Support Databases from the same institution.
She received 1st prize in the Wild Plum International Haiku Contest 2015, 3rd prize in Le Prix Jocelyne Villeneuve 2017, and multiple Honorable Mentions from the Bashō Memorial English Haiku Contest, The Betty Drevniok Award and others. Her work has been published in numerous journals and anthologies, including Asahi Haikuist Network, Daily Haiga, The Mainichi, Under the Basho, and cattails. She is the founder and editor of Enchanted Garden Haiku Journal.
