The Haiku Foundation honors the work of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga: visual image wedded to haiku. This month’s featured artist is Elizabeth Crockett.
Elizabeth has had photo haiku published in many journals, including NHK Japan, World Haiku Association, Daily Haiga, Failed Haiku, Prune Juice, and more. She won the 2nd annual Jane Reichhold Memorial Contest in the photographic category, and in 2021 had one of her photo haiku commissioned by the City of Burlington, Ontario, for an outdoor art and writing display. Elizabeth has had two books shortlisted for the prestigious Haiku Foundation Distinguished Books Award.
