Elizabeth Crocket

The Haiku Foundation honors the work of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga: visual image wedded to haiku. This month’s featured artist is Elizabeth Crocket.

Elizabeth is a Canadian author and award-winning poet. She has had two Japanese short form chapbooks published with Red Moon Press. One of them, Not Like Fred and Ginger, a book of haibun chronicling her cancer journey, was shortlisted for the prestigious Haiku Foundation Touchstone Distinguished Book Award in 2014. Elizabeth also composes photo-haiga, and won the 2nd Annual Jane Reichhold Memorial Contest in the photographic category. Her children’s picture book, Happy Haiku, was also shortlisted for the Haiku Society Touchstone Distinguished Books Award in 2019.
