THF Fundraiser Reaches Its Goal

The Haiku Foundation’s annual Double Matching Fundraiser has been a big success, realizing its goal of $5000 and even a little over. The final tally is $5110, a much needed cash infusion as the Foundation closes its third year as a chartered nonprofit organization. Due to the generosity of benefactors Roberta Beary, Kristen Deming and an anonymous third, the donations of more than thirty contributors were matched two dollars for one, placing the Foundation in good stead for our many planned projects in the new year. Those projects include National Haiku Poetry Day on April 17, which will be celebrated with haiku readings and presentations in more than twenty cities across the country; the inauguration of the Haiku Hall of Fame; the first installment toward The Haiku Foundation Video Archive; and much more.

Though our fundraiser met our goal and our expectations, these and other projects are long-term and will require continual funding, so please don’t feel that you can’t contribute just because our fundraising period has drawn to a close. You may still donate capital to help us make these projects reality. Please go to https://www.thehaikufoundation.org/donate/ and contribute what you can. Any amount is welcome, and all who donate are listed on our donation wall. We also need your time and expertise: let us know of your interest in any of our projects and that you’d like to participate. We’ll find a role for you.

Thanks to all for your continued support of The Haiku Foundation. We look forward to serving you long into the future.

Take care, and Happy Holidays!
