THF Celebration Fortnight 2024 — Day 1
The Haiku Foundation thanks its generous patrons from Thanksgiving to St. Nicholas’s Day with special presentations of work accomplished during the past year, and invites everyone to contribute to our continuing success by donating during our Fundraiser. THF Fact of the Day: In 2024 The Haiku Foundation hosted two online renku, one led by Patricia Machmiller, one by John Stevenson. Our archive of The Renku Sessions now contains 20 collaborative poems of various lengths. THF Video of the Day: Simone Pansolin, Simone Fontanelli, Flora Fontanelli: 4 Haiku Against War THF Shorts of the Day: Marius Alexandru: Peacocks David Levy: The Village Juxta Featured Article: 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the appearance of Juxtapositions: Research and Scholarship in Haiku, the only journal dedicated to these matters in English. To mark this auspicious occasion we are featuring a article selected from each issue throughout our fundraiser. Today's article, from issue 1, is “Jouissance among the Kire: A Lacanian Approach to Haiku” by Ian Marshall. Did You Know? In 2024 The Haiku Foundation was the recipient of a bequest from poet Susan Diridoni. By remembering our work in her will, Susan helps us continue to expand our library, features, and operations.
