Survey Says . . . International Haiku Poetry Day 2021
Today’s question: International Haiku Poetry Day
International Haiku Poetry Day, April 17, held its first iteration (as National Haiku Poetry Day) in 2012 and was a great success, with gatherings in 17 locations amassing more than a thousand participants. A dozen venues celebrated the 2013—2014 events, with many repeats. In 2015 IHPD was inaugurated, featuring two new projects: the HaikuLife Haiku Film Festival, and the Earthrise Rolling Haiku Collaboration, both of which are the only thing of its kind. Both draw great numbers of participants. Events held in the United States and abroad are featured as well, though for obvious reasons there has been less of that the past couple years. Information and archives for the event can be found on the website.
