Cezar-Florin Ciobîcă works in Botoșani, Romania, as teacher and author of poetry, prose and haiku. He has been writing haiku since 2008, and his poems have appeared/featured on several international websites - The Mainichi - Haiku in English, Haikuniverse, The Heron’s Nest, tinywords,Haiku heute, Tageshaiku, Chrysanthemum, Frogpond, Troutswirl (The Haiku Foundation Blog), The World Haiku Review, NHK Haiku Masters.
He coordinates the Sakura Haiku Club in his hometown, organizes and sponsors haiku and senryu contests on his website Lyrical flashes and takes part in the judging board of the International Haiku Contest Sharpening the Green Pencil.

Awards and Other Honors:

First Prize and Honourable Mention, Kaji Aso Studio’s International Haiku Contest (2016, 2012); Prize Winner, The 19th HIA Haiku Contest, 2017; Distinguished Work Prize, The 9th Yamadera Basho Memorial Museum English Haiku Contest, 2017; Judges' Award, The 23rd Itoen New Haiku Contest, Japan, 2012, and a few prizes and honourable mentions awarded in Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, Russia for haiku written in a language other than English.
Several years in a row, he has been selected to the European Top 100 most creative haiku authors.

Books Published:

He has published three books so far: The hourglass’s memory, poetry, Axa, 2006; The seasons’s carousel, haiku, PIM, 2013, Petals on the wind, haiku, PIM, 2017).
In August 2019, Cezar’s two line ku were published in Haiku University Japan's multilingual Haiku Anthology, Vol.5.
