I fix copiers for a living and try to write haiku whenever I can. I'm married with two twin infants and a dog.

Awards and Other Honors: I've been lucky enough to have my haiku included in two different editions of the annual Red Moon Anthologies (2008 and 2009). Some of my poems won 1st prize in the Bay Area Poets Coalition contest and the Arizona State Poetry Society contest, and I've had a couple of Dwarf Stars and Rhysling nominations.

Books Published: Spec House of Poetry (, run by J. Bruce Fuller, published a book of my horror poetry (including several haiku) in 2007, titled Bits and Pieces. In 2009, the same publisher produced a broadside of three of my haiku and titled it "bird ku."

Selected Work
speeding ticket
the cop in no hurry
to give it to me
steady rain a line outside the aquarium
planting bulbs
in the shaded yard
she lets the phone ring
autumn sunset—
   watching a veteran
beg for change
   good harvest—
a new shirt
        for the scarecrow
rain clouds—
my father picks a coffin
for his father
