Leah Ann Sullivan

As an undergraduate, I studied cinema studies and animation. I later earned a Master's in TESOL and have worked as an EFL teacher in Japan for several years. Since high school, I renewed my study and practice of haiku in 2006.

clear-cutting
wild turkeys balanced
on a split-rail fence

empty café
outside the stadium
savoring the mustard

this side of winter
tuning the mandolin
to mountain cherry

Pacific saury
smell of the ocean 
in my dishwater

perfect for rainy ballpoint pen days new to-dos

breaking asparagus at both ends the hard and soft knowing
