Bob Stewart grew up in a small town in eastern Kansas before attending the University of Kansas, where he obtained a BS in Astronomy in 1994. He has worked as a high school physics teacher since 1998. He first found haiku during his college years and not much later read Hass’s The Essential Haiku: Versions of Basho, Buson & Issa and Higginson’s The Haiku Handbook. This led to some occasional dabbling in writing haiku. However, it was not until the summer of 2024 that he became a student of haiku. And the journey continues.
