Samantha Pardo Irigoyen

Samantha Pardo Irigoyen is a multi-genre poet, with an emphasis on haiku. Her haiku poetry has been published with The Heron’s Nest, Akitsu Quarterly, The Dewdrop, Poetry Pea Journal, Autumn Moon Haiku Journal, and Haiku Pause (with additional poetry forthcoming in Blithe Spirit and Presence). Additional long form poetry of hers can be found published with Beyond Words Literary Magazine, Autumn Sky Poetry Daily, and Lothlorien Poetry Journal (with a piece forthcoming in the Cathexis Northwest Press Sep - Oct 2025 issue). When not writing, she is grateful to be part of the editing team for Poetry Pea Journal and Podcast, as well as co-founder and member of the editing team for O2 Haiku Literary Magazine. Additionally, she was featured once on the Poetry Pea Podcast as a community judge. She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her family, a place of poetic beauty itself.

bonfire roars
into soundless night
ashen confetti

forest trail . . .
a colorful display
of pressed leaves

satellite blinks . . .
memories of fireflies
back home

butterfly garden―
the caterpillars absence
shows on the milkweed

wind chimes
somewhere else
the wind

beach day . . .
counting the ripples
her steps make
