coconut meat
if only life had been
smooth sailing

first showers
out of the bus window
tiny hands

butternut blight
the stretch marks
I no longer hide

muddy puddle
his laughter splashes
off the wheel

skeletonized leaf
all the live
in war's shadow

custard apple seeds
close yet distant
roots of family
