Margherita Petriccione is a retired math teacher born in Scauri, a seaside village from which she has drawn inspiration for many of her poems, as from her tiny garden where she finds serenity and communion with nature. She felled in love with haiku at first sight and found in it the poetic form closest to her sensibility.
She publishes her haiku in on-line and in print magazines - The Mainichi, The Asahi Shimbun, hedgerow, Under the Basho, The Haiku Foundation workshops and events, Incense Dreams,The Mamba, Cattails, Stardust Haiku, Wales Haiku Journal, Otata, Failed Haiku, Haikuniverse and others.

Awards and Other Honors: 1st place MHP Academy “quickie writing challenge” dedicated to D-Day, June, 2018; Honorable mention Premio Letterario Internazionale Matsuo Bashō 2016; The Mainichi Haiku in English Best of 2017; Haiku of Merit (Neo-classical Haiku) World Haiku Review, 10th Anniversary Issue, March 2018.
