Gatto (Daniel Gahnertz)

Daniel Gahnertz has been published online in Fri Haiku, in Fri Haiku’s yearly anthologies, and in the anthologies Haiku Förvandlingar and Svensk Haiku(Trombone).  When not writing, he is probably composing pictures.

Awards and Other Honors: He has won the International Capoliveri Haiku Contest four times; Runner-up, The Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award (2012); Runner-up, The Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award (2011); Honorable Mention, 13th HIA haiku contest (2011); Honorable Mention, the 22nd ITO EN “Oi Ocha” New Haiku Contest (Japan, 2011).

curled up
like an old cat -
childhood memories

after his stroke
the old drunkard
only old

barflies
like fireflies
but full of lies

last snow
in the spring dusk . . .
roe deer’s tail

taking photos
of tourists
taking photos

digging up my cat
to bury her
deeper . . .
