Maureen is a member of The New Zealand Society of Authors, and writes poetry and children’s picture books. Her poetry has been featured in various online and print journals, and she has published her first poetry collection, Antipodes, which was reviewed in Poetry New Zealand Yearbook on November 2, 2015. She has studied online at Whitireia and with Alan Summers. More of her recent haiku and haiga are available on her website and on Facebook page, and her second book of poetry is forthcoming.

Awards and Other Honors: Her children’s book Fearless Fred and the Dragon was short-listed for the Joy Cowley Award in 2012.
