Nepal’s Newa Haiku Khya to Celebrate 5th Anniversary on June 17, 2025

Newa Haiku Khya (नेवा: हाइकु ख्य:) has been promoting haiku in Nepalbhasha (Newar language) in Nepal for more than six years. This year marks the organization’s fifth formal anniversary. There will be a Newa Haiku recitation program to honor the occasion on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, beginning at 1330 Nepal Standard Time in the Satoaki Memorial Building in Kopundole, Lalitpur, Nepal. More than forty Nepalabhasha (Newar) haijin are expected to participate.

Julie Bloss Kelsey is the current Vice President of The Haiku Foundation and an editor at Frogpond. She started writing haiku in 2009, after discovering science fiction haiku (scifaiku).
