More on Gary Hotham
When I met Don Wentworth of Modest Proposal Chapbooks and Lilliput Review at Haiku North America, it was a lucky day.
Gary Hotham is one of my favorite poets. I always carry around his book, Breath Marks. Don was fortunate enough and smart to publish some of Hotham’s work. I bought it all.
How does that Stanley Kunitz poem go?
“The great clock of your life is slowing down, and the small clocks run wild.”This is the focus of Hotham’s work. I will be doing an interview with Hotham in days to come.

Robert, are you talking about “King of the River?” That’s not a poem at all –l that’s just a piece of the poem.
Thanks for the post, Gene. Gary is an amazing poet who evokes the universe in small everyday details. I’ll be looking forward to your interview.
Don
Lovely contrasts of life in this and a wonderful idea to think about, time stands still for no man, it is a very wide focus. I look forward to reading more.
Nice statement, good stuff to reflect on, but not a haiku by any measure. A senryu like poem that, in reality, is an Imagist poem.
