Katrina, congratulations on this brilliant verse.
Well done, Katrina – and well deserved!
I can taste it, feel it on my tongue. And the juxtaposition with “last day of summer” is perfect. (Even though, unless we are slaves to the calendar, we don’t know that the last day of summer is the last day of summer until it’s over.) As Alan says, stunning.
