Haiku Music Challenge 54

Welcome to the fifty-fourth iteration of the Haiku Music Challenge, hosted by Naviar Records.

Corine Timmer is an author, haiku poet, publisher, visual artist, designer, and animal lover who recently discovered a passion for music: you can find her submissions to the Haiku Music Challenge on her Soundcloud and Facebook pages.

Corine is currently curating a haiku anthology in celebration of the Year of the Rat: she’ll be accepting submissions in May and June 2020 and proceeds will go to OPOPO HeroRATs. For more info visit Rattled’s Facebook page.

Eighteen tracks were made in response to Corine’s poem, and here are the tracks I selected for The Haiku Foundation:

Track: Flowering Fields
Artist: OneAmbient4
Genre: ambient

Fluid ambient textures enriched by a soothing native flute in this track by OneAmbient4.

Track: Flowering Fields
Artist: Daniel Diaz
Genre: electronic

A beautiful and intricate composition by Daniel Diaz, made with ukulele, upright bass, plucked piano, zither and synths.

Track: Flowering Fields
Artist: Night Note
Genre: ambient

For this track, Night Note carefully combines subtle ambient elements and nature sounds: the result is an evocative and calming piece.

Thank you for listening. Next week we’ll be listening to music inspired by another haiku by Raymond Stull:

Creativity,
for which springtime light is lit
like fire in my mind

The deadline to submit your track is 29 April. To find out more and participate, please visit the Naviar Records site.
