Haiku Music Challenge 41
Welcome to the forty-first iteration of the Haiku Music Challenge, hosted by Naviar Records.
Debbie Strange is an internationally published short-form poet, haiga artist, and photographer whose creative passions bring her closer to the world and to herself. She has a deep reverence for nature, and her work often reflects that affinity. Debbie’s archive also includes hundreds of haiga, and reviews of her books.

I cup the warm breath
of my horse
Ten tracks were inspired by Debbie’s poem. Here’s my selection for this week:
Track: frozen trough
Artist: Night Note
Genre: piano, ambientAccompanied by soothing ambient layers, this piano improvisation by Night Note fits perfectly with the evocative atmosphere of Debbie’s poem.
Track: Warm
Artist: Subespai
Genre: ambientEven though Mauri Edo aka Subespai is based in Sydney (where now it’s summer) his submission captures the dreamy, mysterious mood the haiku provides.
Track: frozen trough
Artist: Tunnelwater
Genre: ambient, droneTunnelwater’s music translates snapshots of time into sounds. Time moves forward, but the memory of a single moment may remain with us forever.
Thank you for listening. Next week we’ll be listening to music inspired by a haiku by Issa:
a new year begins —
before sunrise
a pine-decorated boat
The deadline to submit your track is 8 January. To find out more and participate, please visit the Naviar Records site.

I am new to this site. Marvelous! Not only did the music capture the essence of the poem it captivated me also.
Thanks.
Thanks so much, Nicholas!
