Hello. Thinking about the Touchstone Book awards, can someone tell me how many poems/haiku are necessary to call a publication a book? I have seen collections of around 50 called a chapbook, and
others with less than that called a full length book. Confusing. Anyone know? Thanks.

What Books Are Eligible?

Any English-language book or other book-length production that is of or about haiku (and related forms) — print or electronic — is eligible for an award. The Distinguished Books Award is open to books published during the current calendar year. Anyone may nominate a book for the Awards. Books by the Book Awards coordinator and panelists are not eligible.

If you have a question about a book's eligibility, use our Contact page to send us an email.

You could address your query to Bruce H. Feingold.

He is friendly and approachable via email.

You have plenty of time to bring out a chapbook/pamphlet (30-50+ haiku) or a collection (70-100 haiku).

Good luck!
