Hi Darrell,

I guess you have to make that decision.  I personally wouldn't rush anything.  Have you got enough workshopped haiku to submit to a magazine?

all my best,

Alan

alan,

hahahaha I dont have enough workshopped to submit to a magazine....but I do have enough written on my laptop to fill a magazine.

BTW: when I post a ku to workshop and get no or little feedback....what does it mean? its not worth commenting on ? or its fine like it is? I only ask because I VALUE the mentors feedback so much.

Hi Darrell,

Unfortunately not all posts attract a lot of comments.

I wish I could comment a lot more, but trawling through a mountain of work.

But your one about young love and sand was cool! ;-)

Hi,

It will go in waves (it seems) where sometimes you will get a lot of comments and other times it will be slow.  I haven't commented much this last month but next month I should have more free time!  Never worry.  Just write and keep on writing ...

As for moving up; you'll know because there won't be much to comment on in the beginner's section at a certain level.  Then, move - and a new challenge begins with more detail and more scrutiny.

best,

Don
I write haiku because they're there to be written ...

just do it.

maybe you will get more comment,
however Don is right.    sometimes there just isn't much traffic.
and sometimes there is so much traffic people just miss new post..

Hi Darrell,

I have my arms open and stretching out to welcome you to the advanced mentoring. I can understand why you want to move up--there's a bigger crowd there--so you don't feel so "lonely."

Best,

Nu

All who have responded to this thread,
Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement, I think I'm getting close to moving up into advanced. I'm catching myself making argumental points with mentors. lol How dare he bite the hand that feeds him.

As I now live next to the Atlantic (within a wake-up walk from the shore), I've experienced the sea's wisdom in many things, and my love for haiku is but one.  Here, at THF, "novice" and "master" mix as salt in a soup... taste a little or a lot... either bowl is soup.  Enjoy the flavor(s).

ciao...
