Presence is a print journal produced three times a year, and is seeking:  haiku, senryu, tanka, haibun, other haiku-related poetry, and haiku-related essays; and books of or about, haiku, tanka, and related poetic forms for review.

The windows for submissions are as follows:
for the March issue, 15th December-31st January;
for the July issue, 15th April-31st May;
for the November issue, 15th August- 30th September.

Please do not submit work outside the submission windows. This time is needed for production and distribution purposes, and to give the editorial team a bit of a break.

Postal submissions are accepted only from the United Kingdom and to ensure a reply, please include a s.a.e.

Haiku, haibun and other poetry, best-of-issue replies and any other correspondence to: Ian Storr, 75 Glebe Road, Sheffield S10 1FB  i.storr@btinternet.com.

Tanka to: Alison Williams, alisonmwilliams@outlook.com.

Essays to: Judy Kendall, 2, The Hollins, Todmorden OL14 8BJ, saiwaicho@yahoo.co.uk.

Books for review, with a covering letter, to: Julie Mellor, 22 Park Avenue, Penistone, Sheffield S36 6DN,  jdmellor390@gmail.com.

Before submitting work for publication, please take a look around the website to get an idea of the sort of work we publish. All work should be original, unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.  Please send only one set of submissions per issue in any particular poetic form. Haiku and tanka should contain up to 10 poems in each set. For postal submissions, to ensure a reply, please include a s.a.e. For email submissions, include all poems in the body of the text, not as an attachment, and use the subject line:  Presence submission.

Any work published in Presence may be used on the Presence web site without further permission being sought.

Essayists and reviewers from all parts of the haiku community are welcome and relevant support is provided where needed.

We regret that, due to the volume of books received, we cannot guarantee a review and there may be delays in publishing reviews. Please note that no books will be returned.

Correspondence between the editors and other parties is confidential and may not be reproduced without the written permission of the editor concerned.
