I hope it is fine to post this here: it's somewhat geographically specific and is tanka rather than haiku.
Thanks, J.B.

Call for submissions: 25 Tanka Poets from Great Britain and Ireland

The Special Features section of the Atlas Poetica (ATPO) website is seeking submissions for a collection of '25 Tanka Poets from  Great Britain and Ireland' to be edited by Jon Baldwin.

New and established tanka poets from Great Britain and Ireland are invited to submit new tanka that foreground the diverse landscapes and cityscapes, community and culture, identity and idioms, of the Great Britain and Ireland.

Atlas Poetica : A Journal of Poetry of Place in Contemporary Tanka is an international journal that publishes tanka literature in many languages. However, it can be difficult for readers and poets to find venues to enjoy tanka in different languages and cultures. Therefore, we have created a Special Features section to focus attention on tanka traditions around the world. We are looking for unpublished work from both established writers and writers new to the form. We are open to subject matter and treatment; shocking is fine, but material that is offensive (racist, pornographic, etc.) is not wanted. Please send us your best work.

Submissions: Poets are invited to send up to six tanka each, but only one, if selected, will published, in keeping with the theme and format of the '25 Poems' features on the Atlas Poetica website. Send to: j.baldwin@londonmet.ac.uk, with a subject line of '25 Tanka Poets from Great Britain and Ireland

Before submitting, please go to http://www.atlaspoetica.org. All the usual guidelines for Atlas Poetica apply. Potential contributors should familiarize themselves with the Special Features and the full ATPO guidelines.

Deadline: Deadline for submitting to 25 Tanka Poets from Great Britain and Ireland is July 31, 2011. The planned publication date is Autumn 2011. Special Features are published on an irregular schedule.

Email address for submissions: j.baldwin@londonmet.ac.uk — subject line: 25 Tanka Poets from Great Britain and Ireland

Looking forward to the tanka that's been selected.  I only know of Colin Stewart Jones, managing editor for Notes from the Gean, so I can at least congratulate him. ;-)
