What do you enjoy the most about haiku?

How it makes my brain spin as if I'm doing a gym workout! And supporting other poets, and those who are just starting off as poets regardless of age or other aspects.

You may or may not know how much of a wonderful and generous mentor you have been to me for the last ten years, Alan. And I thank you sincerely for this.

Cash prizes totalling $US175 and published on the Haiku Northwest website. Winners will be announced at the annual Seabeck Getaway, October 28-31. Judge is Susan Antolin.

Yamadera Bashō Memorial Museum English Haiku Contest
Limit 2 entries. One grand prize and two distinguished work prizes in each division (Division 1b is for non-Japanese entrants). Winners announced mid-October and posted to the website.
