New to Haiku: Free Discussion Area / Books

I'm not new to the site, but would still like to enquire about a specific topic.

Could anyone recommend a modern or contemporary collection of haiku and related forms about death.
Yes, death poems. I would just like to read them for inspiration.

Thank you.

New to Haiku: Free Discussion Area / tanka

I know I'm just getting the feel for haiku, but is there any books or links that could be useful to start to learn about the fundamentals of writing tanka.

Thank you.

New to Haiku: Free Discussion Area / poem refusal
March 15, 2018, 08:38:29 AM
What is best to do when a poem is entered to a site, and  refused. Should a polite thank you be mailed back or just leave it as is.
The one I sent to 'tiny words' was refused, not what they were looking for at this time.
Don't want them to think I've got a 'cob on' about the refusal.

New to Haiku: Free Discussion Area / a question

In my chimney there are crows nesting, I hear the chicks, its so sweet.

Would using the term 'crow babies' be acceptable in a haiku instead of crow chicks?
