I found this ku to be much better, but i'm not a huge fan of translated haiku. they seem to loose something through translation.

Alan, I think I'll be coming over in the spring :) And Ive been moving from Alaska and Ohio/Michigan boarder at least twice a year (for family reasons) so I really don't know where I'll be in the spring. either Anchorage or Toledo. So for planning purposes it will actually be easier to go to the UK lol. I'm really excited to go  :)

Just the old fashioned way. go through em' one by one. Start with two large categories, then break each category down to smaller ones.

I really enjoyed the second ku. After thinking, I drew a few different conclusions in my head.
It dosent necessarily mean something bad, just... a change.
I vote for fay.

too early for sunrise

of burning villages

This ku wowed me!
Amazing.
Thank you for posting these great examples, Alan  :)

Do you by any chance know where i would be able to purchase a collection like this?
I would be very interested.

okay :) i am a big fan of hers, and that poem is simply amazing.
Her ku should have placed second or first in the Robert Spiess contest, not third.

I love his harvest moon/mantis poem. It stays at the top of my favorites list.
Now, I shall take a look at the interview. should be interesting. Thank you for posting this.

I agree with you. I have penned hundreds of "private" ku, and sometimes their better left private.

I hope you enjoy it. I tend to enjoy English haiku more than I do Japanese haiku.
This is my favorite poem at the moment, penned by Susan Constable-

shades of blue
the deer's remaining eye
cradled by bone

I have an idea, but I am just in need of some help.
