Dear haiku friends,

Bulgarian Haiku Union kindly invites you to take part with your haiku in The Fifth International Haiku Contest ,,Cherry Blossom". All awarded haiku poems will be presented during the spring festival HANAMI in South Park, Sofia.

Please, send your submissions – up to 3 unpublished haiku together with your name, email and postal address in the body of the e-mail to: haiku_union@abv.bg

Submissions including attached files will not be taken under consideration.

Official language of the International section: English

Deadline: 5th of April 2021

Judges of the International section: Vessislava Savova, Tzetzka Ilieva and Antoaneta Nikolova.

The awarded works will be published in May 2021 on the pages for contest results in LiterNet, Cultural News: http://kulturni-novini.info/ as well as on the official Facebook page of Bulgarian haiku Union and friends.

Submission Guidelines:

Theme:  HOPE

Rules:
The contest is open to everyone but the members of the Jury, the contest coordinator, and their relatives.
The submitted haiku must be original work of the author, unpublished (online or in a printed edition) and not shared on any social media (including closed/private groups).
Poets may submit in English or in Bulgarian.

Number of haiku:
Each poet may submit no more than 2 haiku.

Submission period:
January 1, 2021 – February 15, 2021

SECOND INTERNATIONAL HAIKU CONTEST "CHERRY BLOSSOM" – BULGARIA

We have the pleasure to inform you that the Spring Festival OHANAMI, dedicated to the beauty of the blossoming Japanese cherry trees, is back again on the 10th of April in the South Park in Sofia, Bulgaria. The festival is organized with the kind assistance of Club ,,Friends of Japan" and will be held under the patronage of the Japanese Embassy. In connection with this beautiful event the Bulgarian Haiku Union kindly invites you to take part with your haiku in The Second International Haiku Contest ,,Cherry Blossom" as well as in the art installations.

Inspired by the events going right now at The Haiku Foundation's website, we would like to invite everyone to post here, as a comment/reply, one of their haiku in English (published poems are welcome, just don't forget the credits), and we will translate them into Bulgarian.  This way those of our readers who do not have sufficient knowledge of the English language to enjoy the haiku in their originals, will have the opportunity to connect with the perceptions and visions of their haiku friends from around the world through a translated version.
The window for posting your haiku will stay open until the end of April.
