Hello everyone,
 Can anyone tell me when is it ok to have a haiku read like a sentance? I take a lot of insperation from others published haiku and so much of it seems to me to read like a sentance.
case in point:
    after the game
    a full moon rises over
    the left field fence
                              cor van den heuvel, the haiku anthology

  in my medicine cabinet,
  the winter fly
  has died of old age
                            jack kerouac, the haiku anthology

  indian paintbrush
  still wet
  with dawn colors
                        garry gay,montage the book

 and many more I find in my reading and study of haiku.

 wanted to try my hand at haiga, but am having trouble figuring out how to import the photo-haiku=haiga into the new topic page in beginners. could someone give me step by step instructions on how to do it please?

          Question, is it ok to asign human emotions and/or thoughts to animals in a haiku?
          such as "a fish feeling bigger in a small pond". Some internet sites say its ok others say no.

Just wondering, with the millions of haiku's written over the ages, how do you insure you haven't duplicated another writer's efforts ? It seems like it would be easy to do. I wrote one that came so easy that it seems like it MUST of been done before. I did a internet search useing the words i wrote and can't find a haiku formed from them.....but not all haiku are on the net. Short of reading every page of haiku ever written it seems like its impossible to be sure.
It's been said " there is no such thing as a original thought" can that also hold true in haiku/senyru ?

 I'm wondering how you know when to stop shortening a Haiku
following is a Haiku by Kamala Moore taken from her book " In the spirit of Haiku"

jay's shout from the treestops
teenage boys
ready for a fight

now I can shorten it to

jays shout from trees
teen boys
ready to fight

but in doing so, don't you lose the message, and it's flow ?
