The theme of retreat is Jo.

Jo has multiple meanings, such as mind, heart, emotion, sympathy and empathy which we can use for discussions about the essence of haiku.

Yuzo Ono, esteemed haiku poet, writer and haiku judge, is returning to Asilomar as the guest speaker. Throughout the retreat the following traditional activities will occur – kukai, silent auction, ginkō, art project, book sale, 2026 Tokutomi Contest announcement, presentation of the 2026 Anthology, renku, and time to enjoy the beauty of Asilomar.
