Book of the Week: Waking Echoes – A Book of Haiku by Nola Borrell

Nola Borrell has had haiku and other forms of poetry published in New Zealand and other countries since the mid-1990s. She co-edited the 2008 national haiku anthology, the taste of nashi, with Karen Peterson Butterworth. Nola is also a member of Zazen, an international haiku workshop, and Convenor of Windrift, a Wellington Haiku Group.

Samples of her haiku include:

bird ramble
the baby points
the other way

wild coast
the sea still sorting
stones

shining in the downpour falling leaves

early morning
between the moon and me
a cloud comes and goes

midday sun
sheep panting
under the trampoline

You can read the entire book in the THF Digital Library.
