Book of the Week: Two Little Girls
Our Book of the Week is Two Little Girls, a Lantern Minibook published by Patricia Neubauer in 1994. Honouring the universal preference that it is more fun to learn and get into trouble with a friend than alone, Neubauer offers us a tender peek into the adventures of little girls experimenting with nature and with the traditional roles they will play as adults. With charming illustrations by the author, the ordering of the haiku in this chapbook unobtrusively reflect the changing seasons, adding another layer of meaning for us to respond to.
