Book of the Week: tiny droppings

Zane Parks is a satirist at heart, and his book tiny droppings (self-published, 2007) conveys his delight in the slightly bawdy from its very title throughout its length. Though there are a few haiku here, the bulk are senryu, a genre that is not often practiced with much bite in the West. Parks is not cruel, as the best (?) Japanese senryuists might be, but can be acerbic at times, and bracing.
