Book of the Week: Snow on the Water: The Red Moon Anthology 1998

 

 

For my Book of the Week, I feature Snow on the Water, the 1998 edition of Jim Kacian’s popular Red Moon Anthology. I can’t imagine the size of the task the editors of this series set themselves each year, to cull through more than 2000 entries, by over a thousand poets, to come up with what they regard as the best in haiku, senryu, haibun, essays and linked forms published in English the previous year. For 1998, the editors we have to thank were:
