Book of the Week: Ontsnapt aan opsmuk

mulderHetty Mulder is not a name many Americans will know, as she writes in Dutch and has never appeared, to my knowledge, in the major English-language journals. But Ontsnapt aan opsmuk (self-published, 2010) is an attractive, hand-bound chapbook that came to us with English translations hand-scribed by the author on facing pages, and it seemed a good opportunity to explore what is being written primarily for the European haiku community.

You can read the entire book in the THF Digital Library.

Do you have a chapbook published 2010 or earlier you would like featured as a Book of the Week? Contact us for details.

Haiku featured in the Book of the Week Archive are selected by THF president THF president Jim Kacian, and are used with permission.
