Book of the Week: Moss Hung Trees
Our Book of the Week is Moss Hung Trees, Haiku of the West Coast, by Canadian poet Winona Baker. Though fashion has changed, not that long ago collections of nature haiku were often organized by seasons, in accordance with Japanese traditions. This collection captures the less well-defined seasonal variations of the rain forests of West coast British Columbia.

a new picnic shelter
it starts to rain
moss-hung trees
a deer moves into
the hunter’s silence
ripening corn
whispers taffeta secrets
a warm moon
