Direction Marseille
écoutant rouler le train
je pense à la mer

On the way to Marseilles
listening to the train running
I think of the sea

Ah! pour toujours
marcher dans un sentier
regarder les montagnes

Ah! to be for ever
walking along a path
looking at the mountains

Marche dans la rue
avec le costume soigné
des vieux pigeons gris

Walk in the street
with the neat suit
of the old grey pigeons

You can read the entire book in the THF Digital Library and share your favorite poem from the book in the Comments section.
