Book of the Week: Initial Response
Our Book of the Week is Initial Response, by Irish poet Maeve O’Sullivan, published by Kim Richardson’s Alba Publishing in 2011. Maeve organizes her haiku alphabetically under general topic headings such as Music, Dearly Departed, J’aime Paris, with six haiku per heading. Like so many poets from Britain and Ireland, her haiku show a deep connection to nature and a rare ability to express it. A strong first collection, with illustrations by John Parsons, that will leave you wanting more.
