Book of the Week: gaining amber
David LeCount’s gaining amber (Brussels Sprout Press, 1981) is subtitled “Love Poems for Arla” which should indicate its main preoccupation. At the same time we get a feel for a poet coming to terms with the genre in a personal way, seeking and achieving voice, no easy thing to do in such a short compass.
