Book of the Week: Dusting the Buddha

The Book of the Week for this week is Dusting the Buddha, by Canadian poet Angela Leuck. Illustrated with Hexagram 32, for Duration, this book is the 21st title in the prestigious Hexagram collection from King’s Road Press, and is dedicated to the memory of leading Canadian haiku poet, Marianne Bluger, who died in 2005. Leuck is the master of a dry, impersonal, haiku style, and can lead us in surprising and rewarding directions.

bare young shoulders—
spring enters

  1. It was a pleasure to edit this volume of the King Road’s Press Hexagram Series. Angela Leuck’s collected haiku in “Dusting the Buddha” are outstanding:

    the poet Marianne Bluger
    coming to call—
    I dust the Buddha
