Book of the Week: Dark Leaves

dagenhart_darkleavescoverCarol Dagenhart published this paean to her father (White Dwarf Press, 1986) when she was one of the best-known and most widely published poets writing haiku in English. We miss her spare, incisive, and telling manner.

You can read the entire book in the THF Digital Library.

Do you have a chapbook published 2010 or earlier you would like featured as a Book of the Week? Contact us for details.

Haiku featured in the Book of the Week Archive are selected by Jim Kacian, and are used with permission.

old barn how the light go in it your secret place

hospital room tracing the veins in his hands
velvet — on the other side the dark leaves
