Book of the Week: Counting Loons

Haiku Canada has been publishing members’ anthologies annually since 1977.  Our Book of the Week, Counting Loons, edited by Leroy Gorman and published in 2001, is the 23rd such anthology. It contains several hidden haiku gems, such as the following:

after the fireworks
smoke trails
in the moonlight
-Robin Lovell

in mossy woods
feeling I am someone
the chipmunks might like
-H. F. Noyes

carved on a beech
all I can make out
is L O V E S
-Grant Savage

You can read the entire book in the THF Digital Library.

Do you have a chapbook published 2010 or earlier you would like featured as a Book of the Week? Contact us for details.

Haiku featured in the Book of the Week Archive are selected by THF Digital Librarian Garry Eaton, and are used with permission
