Book of the Week: Athabasca Haiku

Today’s Book of the Week, Athabasca Haiku, features an unusual conjunction, two haiku writers collaborating to produce haiku. Christine Nelson and Merilyn Peruniak live in the Canadian community of Athabasca and share a keen interest in and appreciation for the local landscape. Their haiku are fresh and original responses to a place seldom celebrated in poetry, the Canadian far north. Opening their lens occasionally, they produce a panorama of landscapes and seasonal events, from spring through darkest winter.
